You know how sometimes you just want to forget about it all? Just want to move on with life and not have to think about the abuse you experienced and the dysfunction that still exists there in that place you had to leave?

So physically, I've done that. I'm not nc, b.c it's not really necessary, but I did move out over two years ago, and am financially and emotionally independent- which is a big deal considering that I'm twenty years old.

I've gone to therapy before. It was great-very helpful. Well now I'm starting again. B.c I know that to really move on, I still need to get some stuff out of my system. But I'm scared of using therapy as a crutch forever, something I really do not want to do. And I also just want to put it all behind me, and not think about it anymore- certainly not in the intense therapy setting.

Was a big step to call the therapist, and now I need some support. Thanks guys. I'm not a frequent poster, but just reading your struggles helps to build me up.

You all rock for being here.

Sounds like you're doing the right thing. Smiling (click to insert in post) Don't worry about become dependant on Therapy, they teach you how to self support, so never heard of that being a problem. As for not wanting to think about it, again the T can help with that. If you don't get help, that's when it can fester and hang around. Mind you, If you did get addicted to T, bit like being addicted to water. What harm can it do ? So keeping doing the right thing.  Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)

Hi tentoes

It can be incredibly hard work to get through all the issues that may have affected you. I agree with Happychappy that therapy is a tool rather than a medicine. A good therapist helps you to learn a new outlook and tools to increase your options in life. They also are like a surrogate parent for a while and as such the role is limited in function.Ultimately it is to learn self sufficiency and if you have that then all is good. you only need to go to a health carer when you need care. I would hope that you would be ok to care for yourself and just go back when ever you need extra care.

Good on you for letting us know.

i too think this community rocks!

Best wishes tentoes!
