Pet is replaced too

My expwBPD loved her pet a lot, in fact more than her family and her relationships it appeared. My ex replaced me right away after she ended the relationship. Well, her pet died 3 days ago. That night, she posted a post about pet rescue. Two days later, she informed me she was filling out an application to obtain a new pet. I don't mean to sound judgmental as I feel this is a very personal choice. I also think pet rescue is a very important thing, one which we both advocated for years. For some reason though, it surprised me as she was so obsessed with this pet as she had been with me. She moved on right away from me and now appears to be moving on as she can't be alone. Is it me or does this seem rather in line with her BPD?

Completely inline. My exwBPD left me, our kids, our home the 8 cats she HAD to have AND her dog.
About 1.5 year later, after she got 3 NEW cats (since there MUST be something wrong with the old cats) she said to our son "It's hard keeping up after 3 cats".
He just looked at her like "WTH?". All the while he's helping me to keep up with the 8 cats and her dog she left behind.
Crazy is as crazy does.
