javascript:void(0);

Doctors first seen that I had hypertension at 16. At that age, I had a 24 hours pressure monitoring machine calculating an average pressure level of 190/120.

I am a no good kid of a BPD mother divorced. I was bullied during these years of highschool.

Everything seems so much better now.

But sometimes I feel that it could be better... .

I would like to know what would be the suggestions to:

-improve self-image

-stress level with others (anxiety comes, ADD)

-improve memory (I read that the hippocampus part of the brain could be damaged when facing long term stressful situation)

We always look for miracle but a start in questioning is hope

Hi Amifelix,

Welcome!   I'm sorry that you're going through this, but it's great that you're reaching out to others and looking for help. There are many others here who grew up with parents with BPD and understand how difficult it can be.

How is your relationship with your mother now? What support or help do you already have for yourself?

I know it's painful, but you are not alone.   Let us know how we can help you.

As a child of a BPD, I know how damaging the effects are, but there is hope! I started my journey of healing with watching all of the John Bradshaw series, entering therapy and reading anything that could help explain why I had the parents I did. The John Bradshaw series can be found on Youtube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5q2tZa1gp8Q&list=PL8370480DEC1FC455.

Are you seeing a professional? Let us know how you are doing.

Hi Amiefelix

Theres plenty of things to do for relieving stress. Hot baths, dancing, music, cutting down caffeine, stop smoking if you do, mild exercise and healthy organic food.

What I find though is by liking who you are you feel a lot less stressed. How do you do this? By finding what your good at and doing it. Self improvemrnt whether it be learning something new or travel. Having new experiences and Increasing your outlook on life. The more you do the more Interesting you are. The more interesting you are more people will be drawn to you.

I wouldnt discount seeing a doctor to make sure there isnt an underlying problem. Prolonged stress can cause all sorts of ailment and can affect the thyroid amongst other things.
