I ended up contacting my BPDexgf today about whether she could pay me back some portion of the money she owes me. I know breaking NC is never ideal, but I felt like it was worth it to see if I could paid back. The money isn't make or break necessarily, but it would definitely be helpful, particularly in terms of my taxes.

So, I texted her and asked her if she could pay some of it back in a month. She responded cordially and said she could. She even said she hoped I was doing well. I wished her the same and told her I would talk to her in a month.

So far, so good... .But we'll see what happens in a month. The last time my ex and I spoke it became contentious because of the money. She got very angry at me because she said I was treating her like a "collection agency" about the money she owed me (money she owed because I bailed her out of jail Laugh out loud (click to insert in post)). In reality, I had just gently followed up with her about it... .Admittedly more than a few times, but I felt like I had to otherwise it wouldn't get done. I ended having to listen to some very hurtful things that I didn't think were fair to me or about me (about how terribly I was treating her... .Even though I didn't think it was warranted, it did hurt). I eventually just told her to pay me back when she could because I didn't want to deal with that kind of behavior anymore.

But now I feel like the money would be really helpful, so here I am.

It's brave of you to claim for your money knowing your emotion would get screwed up by her!
