Hi everyone. My name is Sarah and I believe my mother has BPD. I have read up on this disorder as well as others and this is as close as I can come to finding some amount of closure why she might be the way she is. I am 26 married with 2 children. I am not exactly sure where to go from here but this is the first time I have sought out a support group. I am hopeful to connect here. Thanks everyone.

Hi skorbecki
Welcome to the BPD Family. I'm glad you've found us. I arrived here about a year ago because the man I'm dating has an uBPDxw (undiagnosed BPD ex-wife) and have found this site full of information, ideas, encouragement, strategies, tools and support.
You are not alone everyone of us knows what it's like having a pwBPD (person with BPD) in our lives. You will be understood and believed. Please visit the various boards and read other threads, if you are like me when I first arrived you will be surprised by how much we all have in common.
You could begin by checking out the "Lessons" links to the right ------------------------------------>
Can you tell us a little more of your story and what is your relationship with your mom currently like?
Again Welcome

Hi Sara:
I found the Walking of Eggshells book helpful. I bought the accompanying workbook and took a couple of the tests. My sister tested out as high-functioning BPD.
I wasn't aware of the definition of BPD when I sought therapy approx. 6 weeks ago. I just knew I was ready to eliminate my sister from my life after a very offensive rage event (not the first). The therapist let me ramble and describe my sister's behavior. I was actually able to talk about it nonstop during 3 sessions. At the end of my 3rd session, the therapist said I might be interested to get the Walking on Eggshells book.
I immediately made some electronic online purchases. I was amazed that so many of the situations I experienced with my sister were described in the book. I had been using the term "walking on eggshells" a lot. it really hit home.
What type of behavior does your mom have that could indicate BPD?
I'm rather new her as well. I think you will find a lot of helpful people her and support.

What are your biggest struggles with your mom? Do you see anything affecting your children like you need to set boundaries to protect them? I hope to hear more and how best we can support you.
