Before you can make things better, you have to stop making them worse... Have you considered that being critical, judgmental, or invalidating toward the other parent, no matter what she or he just did will only make matters worse? Someone has to be do something. This means finding the motivation to stop making things worse, learning how to interrupt your own negative responses, body language, facial expressions, voice tone, and learning how to inhibit your urges to do things that you later realize are contributing to the tensions.

Good Morning all!  I've made it to 60 days as of today 5/13/15.  No contact actually started several days prior to me leaving her, mainly due to the fact that "there was no contact since!"  It's a sad day but a happy milestone. Thank you Reclaimingmylife for your kind words regarding my transformation from "not so good" to "getting better quickly".  We don't always see ourselves as others do, so it's good when someone comes along and reminds us "hey, you're doing pretty good!"

I'm far from healed, but I do see the difference in my face when I look in the mirror.  I'm still limping but I keep going, and my appetite is getting better so I better watch out!  LOL

Everyone here has been (I like to use this word--) INSTRUMENTAL in my getting better and on my feet.  I cannot thank everyone enough, AND I hope my pain has helped someone to learn more about life, BPD, and themselves.

If you guys wanna chip in and get me something:  Three eggs over easy with toast would be nice!  LOL  Wish I can go to breakfast with you all!

Have a great day... .and sorry, I forgot the party hats!  :-)

You did it!  So proud of you.   You have courageously shared your pain and struggle with us here so I know it has been hard.   This is a major accomplishment.  I can definitely see/hear the difference in you.   But the most important and impressive thing is YOU can see it yourself when you look in the mirror.

Totally understand you feel happy and sad today.   It is such an accomplishment and yet,  of course,  one you never hoped to have.   Sadly,  it has been necessary and you've stayed the course.

You've kicking ass,  DyingLove.   A celebratory breakfast would be great.   Maybe you can take yourself out and know we are there with you in spirit!
