IN PATIENT TREATMENT CENTERS

My 20 year old daughter in college is BPD. We live in Metro Indianapolis. She has seen therapists with "some" DBT training. The only real DBT therapist with group therapy is 2 hours away in Bloomington so we were never able to get her the help she needed. She will be a 2nd year student at University of Alabama. Long story short, I believe she needs intensive in patient therapy over the summer to learn how to deal with her condition or we are going to lose her. We are considering the Ranch in TN as the program seems to be what she needs. Some reviews I have read give me concern. I am looking for any recomendations on intensive inpatient recommendations or advice for in patient facilities or any reviews of the Ranch. Her condition seems to be worsening and we need to get her help now.
Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations.

Hello JoeyBear,
Welcome to the Parent's Board, we are glad to have you here asking for feedback. I'm sorry that your daughter is struggling so and that you are concerned that you will lose her.
Is she making suicidal threats or gestures?
I understand how difficult it is to find a true DBT program. Is this what you are looking for inpatient as well? Does your daughter seem to engage in the skills and overall mindfulness aspects of DBT?
I'm sorry I don't know anything about "The Ranch" facility to give you any feedback though I have been through the vetting process for RTC for my daughter as an adolescent. My first advice would be to throw out location as an initial factor (within reason). Developing a search criteria can help narrow down the choices. What aspects do you believe your daughter needs in a program? Is this something she is willing to do?

Thank you for your note. At this point we are looking for inpatient treatment center so that she can hopefully come to grip with her condition and find ways tp cope and understand how to deal with life. I do not believe she is suicidal, but has self harmed with cutting.
What I am looking for is a reputable inpatient program that has found success in dealing with BPD. I am not so concerned about what methods are used, more interested in successful outcomes. I understad there are no overnight miracles, but looking for a program that will get her on the right path to be able to cope with her condition and overcome many of her obsticales.
Tnaks again for any help.
