Does anyone else have this trigger?

I've been broken up from my ex who at the very least exhibited some BPD tendencies. I still think about her but not with the same frequency that I did before and certainly with much more detachment. My problem is this during my relationship I had a significant amount of bad luck both professionally and personally... Jobs not working debt piling up and left me suicidal at one point because it didn't seem like there was a release from both the manipulating mind games of my ex as well as the beat down that comes from things constantly not working out. I have once again encountered some bad luck professionally work slowing down just as I feel like my plans are coming into line to get out of debt and get myself back to where I was 5 years ago both professionally and personally before this all happened. I find that when I lose a job or face adversity I find that triggers me to look up my ex on social media and can't help but feel like her life is coming together fine while mine seems to get a stick in the spokes just as I'm about to get going again. From what I can tell she is still with my replacement a much older much wealthier and financially stable man. Does anyone else experience this?

Hi emancipated,
I'm sorry to hear that. Do you have friends or family members that you can trust and that you can talk to when you're going through rough patches?

Hi emancipated
It can certainly feel like they have everything going right for them when we are struggling.
The problem with social media is you don't show the bad stuff only the good. Just over three weeks ago my ex was posting about her most amazing weekend ever with her boyfriend. Just over a week ago she finished with him.
My ex might be thinking Im having the most amazing time but the truth is Im between jobs, a single dad raising two teenage boys and have no social life. Ive not portrayed my life as wonderful but I haven't posted any of my woes either.
Its very easy when something goes wrong to see everything else negatively.
