I hate lying. I absolutely hate it. I'm a teacher and can excuse most of the stupid things that kids do, but lying just gets under my skin.
When I was friends with my former friend BPD, I started to question everything she said. And she did lie about some things. However, I recently found out that she was actually telling the truth about many things I thought she was lying about.
This whole situation reminds me of the story "The Boy Who Cried Wolf." She lied about so many other things that I didn't believe her when she was telling the truth. Has anyone else ever discovered that your exBPD was actually telling the truth about things you thought he/she was lying about?

Nope... .in my opinion my BPDex basically lives a lie... lied to her ex about me and lied to me about her ex... she was able to keep this lie for 1 full year... .we would both constantly ask "do you talk to him" ... she would say no no no... with a straight face... great actress to be fair

Oh, mine is definitely a great liar, and she lied about some pretty awful things. But there were things that I had convinced myself that she'd lied about, and she was actually telling the truth.

For me, the feeling that my uBPDw was crying wolf is what alerted me something not being right. I learned not to follow her crazy accusations and attempts at making me guilty of whatever it was going on in her head. It is really tough to keep sane.

Hi SummerStorm,
Pathological lying or mythomania can be common with BPD. A pwBPD have difficulties keeping close relationships, fear abandonment and rejection and will do whatever it takes to keep the relationship.

Hey mutt,
What does it mean when I experienced the opposite, where my BPD ex didn't seem to want to do anything to keep the relationship and was all too happy to terminate it and discard me?
