Question: How does this work if the entire family (my mom has driven away everyone else) does not do this? I have always been the only one who does this, but my aunt and dad still allow her to act like this by not saying anything and/or walking away from her when she acts like this. I'm guessing if only 1 person participates, and the other 2 are passive, it does no good if i'm doing it. ultimately, i'm seen are more of the black sheep than she already thinks i am. any thoughts on getting the rest of the family to admit the truth about my mom and deal with it together?

Hi pookieocks! So sorry you're having to deal with such huge issues.

First, getting anyone to admit anything they are not ready to admit is impossible. In my experience with my family members who are in denial, it is totally pointless to even try to reason with them about how to deal with the BPD relative, because they are not ready to see the extent of the problem.

Second, your reactions and the way you choose to deal with various behaviors are about YOU and YOUR health. You cannot help or change them, but you can set your own boundaries about your own life. You have every right to do so! Take care of yourself first, and their shenanigans will seem less and less important. Good luck & blessings! Please keep us posted!
