slandered by my mother
«

I have recently learned that my mother has BPD traits. She refuses to acknowledge she has any kind a mental disorder so she will not seeK help. She blames everyone else. She has tried to ruin my marriage and my relationship with my 3 children (she refuses to have anything to do with my 4th child who is 1yr). Recently she has been successful in ruining my husband and my relationship with our son (who wife has been diagnosed with BPD). Since he was a teen she has told him lies and pretended she was his mother. She has recently disowned me (I'm her only child). I don't know how to deal with her slander of me to my son and other family members. They all believe her lies. She's such an evil person. I don't know what to do

Hi twilightzonelivi
Having a parent with BPD (traits) can be quite challenging indeed. Could you tell us a bit more about your mother's behaviors? What BPD traits does she exhibit?
Your mother refuses to have anything to do with your 4th child, how does she treat your other children?
I am sorry that you now have a difficult relationship with your son. It is tough when other people, your son and other family-members, believe things that aren't true. There are always two sides to a story and it also says something about people if they choose to just believe something without verifying if it's really true.
You mention your son's wife being diagnosed with BPD. When did she get that diagnosis? How would you describe the relationship your son has with his wife?
