Troubling that a judge could so blatantly project the $50,000 expense of a trial.  His way of scaring you off and avoiding actually doing his job competently.  The system is so horrifically broken.

Have you lined up a new CE, one with a solid reputation and more professional?  Sounds like time to motion the court for it to terminate the CE, order refunds ($18K?) and use the new CE.  Maybe even order old CE to turn over records to new CE.  Try also to motion for some of the more urgent issues to be addressed in the interim.  Legal term is 'relief'?

I don't know if the current CE should be criticized in the motion, though it would be appropriate, even necessary, to write that a 20 month pending custody evaluation still incomplete borders on, or is, unconscionable and unprofessional, that would be basis to seek a change.  This way if the current CE does prioritize and provide a report and it is favorable, then you wouldn't have burned that resource.

Just the fact that thunder has to "play nice" with this incompetent CE because she has the power over a child's life is very disturbing.  Shouldn't CE be held to a higher standard BECAUSE she has power over children's lives?

Please call state license board.

This person should not be able to take your money under the guise of providing relief in a minors life and hold it out for almost two years while blowing off the minor in question.

She should also be held liable for ALL attorney fees incurred while trying to get CE finalized. She has insurance that covers her for this kind of neglect of her duties. You should not be responsible for her poor performance AND have to deal with a BPDm too. AND foot the bill to boot, no flippin way! ( I need an angry face here)

I don't know what state you are in, but I believe that at least here in CA, if our CE was unable to get BPDm's cooperation in the first two weeks of trying to schedule he would have sent a letter (copying all attorneys) to the judge. Stating that BPDm was not doing her part and should he quit or should she be ordered with sanctions put in place if this continues.

I'm sorry, I am so angry for you, with you. For SD.
