My BPDex (recovering alcoholic) recently filed custody papers to try and get our five year old son.  He did this in retaliation because he is upset that I am in a new, serious relationship.  For the first two years of our son's life he was barely involved.  Since then he sees him every other Friday night through Sunday morning, essentially 3 days per month, by his own choice.  We have never had a court ordered agreement in place.  Our pre-trial court date set for May 13th and we are currently in the process of lining up the Social early neutral evaluation (SENE).  Does anyone have any experience or recommendations in this?  I want to be as prepared as possible.  I am told the lawyer he hired is a huge advocate of fathers' rights in our state and is as vicious as they come.  My dealings with her so far have proven this to be true.  I have a lawyer as well but feel very unprepared as to what is coming or what I can do to help my case.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I should add that in response to his summons, we indicated a concern about his questionable sobriety and history of alcohol abuse.  In return his lawyer sent a letter to mine accusing me of being a drug addict, sleeping around with a different guy each night and being an unfit parent. None of which could be further from the truth.  On one hand I am not worried because I know there is nothing to substaniate his allegations, but on the other I do worry because it's my kid that is at stake. Any advice on how to combat this?  I offered to take a chemical evaluation and requested one from him in return. As of now, they have not responded.
