Last night I had the awful feeling something bad happened to my son or his mother.

I went to an AA meeting tonight around 7pm, as we all sat around talking back and forth waiting for the meeting to begin I picked up my smaller AA book because it has a reference in the back. Paging through the book and see a reference to Ford, Henry. I think hmm what did Mr. Ford have to say about alcoholism and go to page 124 I read what it says and leave my big AA book open to that page.

The chair person reads the intro and others read How it Works, The Twelve Traditions and the chair person pics the topic as they do and guess which page he goes to?

Yep and I'm half asleep then get chills when I look down as he rereads the exact paragraph I finished just moments ago.

I know it's no big deal but fun to imagine God was showing me a tiny sign. I told a friend just after the meeting and he said, "guess you were suppose to be at this meeting"

Lol, oh well, I have been praying for God to reveal Himself to His frightened child. I rely on Him, I'm rather blind and He knows it. He also has to know I need protection from my ex and her illness and awful accusations.

I do hope you all find peace this evening and may God ease your painful memories, and for the pwBPD I ask they be set free from their suffering as well.

I know I am referring to alcoholics but I treat my relationship with my ex as an addiction so thought this may apply to these boards and how you all help one another get through relationships with BPDs.

Henry Ford once made a wise remark to the effect that experience is the thing of supreme value is life. That is true only if one is willing to turn the past to good account. We grow by our willingness to face and rectify errors and convert them into assets. The alcoholic’s past thus becomes the principal asset of the family and frequently it is almost the only one!

This painful past may be of infinite value to other families still struggling with their problem. We think each family which has been relieved owes something to those who have not, and when the occasion requires, each member of it should be only too willing to bring former mistakes, no matter how grievous, out of their hiding places. Showing others who suffer how we were given help is the very thing which makes life seem so worth while to us now. Cling to the thought that, in God’s hands, the dark past is the greatest possession you have-the key to life and happiness for others. With it you can avert death and misery for them.

Good night
