Hey. Um, I grew up basically taking care of my mother, who has BPD (as well as some other mental health issues.) It was really difficult and I spent most of my childhood walking on eggshells. I don't live with my parents anymore, but I do see them occasionally. I know it's not my job to be her caretaker, but it's hard nonetheless.

Hi electricscars
Having a BPD mother isn't easy and can really take its toll on you. In what ways did you take care of your mother when you were growing up?
Has your mother ever gotten any treatment for her BPD and/or other mental health issues she has? Do you feel like your mother acknowledges the problems she has?
You still see your parents occasionally, how would you describe the relationship you have with your dad?
I am glad you are reaching out for support here. Many of our members have a BPD parent too and know how difficult this can be.
