I told my main AA sponsor what my exgf is doing and how she's behaving.

He listened in silence then answered me:

She's trying to control you, same thing she's always done, we are back to square one.

She's sick... .what else do you expect?

Got to love his experience, honesty and brevity. Where would I be without all you wonderful people?

My sponsor tells me my exgf controls me and yes that is the case and he also says I controlled her. The difference? Her control is meant to harm me and I did everything in my power to help her, gave her a home, my son, my love, attention, guidance, concern, time, support, AA, NA, Alanon, church, friends, money, empathy, passion, experience, patience, kindness and on and on.

She gave me hell and that is simply the facts.

That is true, she wanted to stay in her misery by choice or because of fear or her mental illness won't allow her to see or understand her issues. One thing us nons need be grateful for.

everyone on our side has the ability for self reflection.

this means we can grow and heal

we have hope they have a shovel and all they can do is dig deeper into their pit of dis pare

we may through them a rope but if they chose not to use it it is their choice!

they will never reach Australia through digging hopefully one day they will realize their mistake. but we dont have to wait, we know we gave enough!

Another thing my sponser told me that I must remember, he said our son needs stability and consistency and that is something his mother cannot give him. He needs me to provide it for him, just the facts.

yeap, that is heavy. you cannot be there for him if you are not strong

1. make yourself strong
2. support your son

my daughter said recently mom needs you more than you so i am cutting of contact.

they will try to get emotional support from anywhere!

protect your son from being a support network for the ex!

Indeed, I gave until there was nothing left and I was broke. They are drowning in 3 inches of water and refuse to stand up and help themselves, hopelessly dependent on others because of the immaturity and fear. We can face the demon and walk away, we have choices and are able to adapt to the ever changing inevitable place we find ourselves. Life is all we got, reality bites sometimes but living in a dream world don't make it better, the world keeps spinning no matter if we like it or not.
