I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder 5 years ago by a "not-so-reliable" drug-despensing doctor - however, everyone in my family (my sister is a doctor) and my significant other (ex, kind of) strongly believe that I have Borderline Personality Disorder.  I fit 9 out of 9 of the criteria, and even though I'm not happy about it, I too believe this is a correct diagnosis for me.  I've been reading about how difficult it is to manage and how almost-impossible it is to overcome, but I'm willing to take the steps I need to get healthy.  I'm starting therapy in January, and I will be looking into a possible medication change.  I just wanted to come onto this website because I need support, and I want to learn all I can about this disorder.  Thanks in advance for all your help.

Hi SoImTryingHere,

I think that you're courageous for getting help and it helps to talk to people that share similarities with you concurrently with therapy, you don't have to go through this alone.  bpdfamily is a support group for the non disordered family member or partner, we learn accredited psychological information on BPD. I'd like to help you find the help that you need:

Resources for BPD Sufferers

I wish you the best of luck on your journeys.
