My Christmas gift is accepting the reality

My keyboard has been broken, so I haven't been able to post much lately.  I went to court last week and it could have been worse, but it was still really bad.

I went into this believing that if I was honest, the truth would come out and prevail.  In reality, whoever has the most money and is most convincing is the winner in a high conflict custody case.  The children's best interest isn't truly considered.  I guess at almost 50 years old it is time to accept this and move on, continuing to mentally support my children in the hope they will make it to adulthood without a personality disorder of their own.

One thing that continues to pop up in my research into protecting my children from afar is the fact that a strong bond between my children and I can offset a lot of damage.  Some even say that a child with a strong, trusting bond with an adult can not get a personality disorder.  That is the hope I will hold on to.

I am sorry that we are all on this site dealing with BPD and my heart especially hurts for the children.  All we can really do is be there for them and help them learn the skills they need to deal with a personality disordered parent.
