We've been together for almost 20 years. He's recently lost a job he had for a realllllllly long time almost 15 years. He's always upset and snaps at only me. He goes WEEKS without speaking to me and acting as though I'm not even in my own home. He interacts with my kids in a loving happy manner. When we do speak, the slightest thing I say sets him off. And I mean like hey did you see the sky is blue today causes a HUGE argument. I don't know how to cope with being ignored for so long. I pay ALL the bills so he doesn't even have to worry about that. He has another job and keeps all his money. He does groceries and miscellaneous things.

I've asked him to just leave but he won't. What do I do because this has caused me to gain 10 lbs and now I find myself sleeping all day when he's home to avoid being ignored. I've tried speaking to him and am met with insults and told to get away the f away from him. I'm so over this but like I said he won't leave. I pay everything so I don't feel I should be thebone leaving.

Welcome to the board, I'm sorry to hear about your struggles.

You have been with your partner for a long time. Have you noticed this pattern throughout your relationship or has it been a recent development? Is he at all willing to go to counseling with you to work through the emotions and issues with communication?

It is tremendously difficult to feel ignored and abused. I hope that you find support and information here that will help you move forward.
