Ex Wife BPD Now Owns a Gun-Incredibly Unstable

We just recently found out that my husband's ex wife who is BPD, anti social, and sociopathic diagnosed now owns a hand gun.  She has had two prior misdemeanors towards my husband for domestic violence.  Because they are misdemeanors the Colorado cops refuse to do anything about it.  We are currently working with the feds as it is against federal law to own a gun with misdemeanor domestic violence charges.  She has a new boyfriend and we believe that he purchased the gun for her.  She admitted to my husbands mother that she has been target shooting with the gun. 
We are so happy that we decided to move across the country.  A big part of this was because we never felt safe with her so close by.  Unfortunately the courts do nothing with custody and my husbands children as still exposed to her half the time.  We are almost 100% sure that she will turn and use this weapon on her boyfriend and we are praying that the children will stay safe.  She has a history of unstable violent relationships even after my husband divorced her.  It will happen again. 
My husband saw her in court a couple of weeks ago and he says that he has never seen her so irrate.  It is obvious that her illness is getting worse and we feel so hopeless and are truly leaving it in the Lord's hands.  The justice system and cops don't seem to do their job so it will take a miracle to get her the help that she needs.  Sorry just needed to vent!

I understand, my ex has guns now too... .I had them all removed by the police when we had several situations in the past. Until the laws get changed, there isn't much you can do I don't think. I moved to a secure place to live and now he lives in another state. His gf and child will be in danger now. Your husbands children are exposed to her and that is really scary I know. Will the courts not do anything to protect them? It will be up to her new bf to protect himself. My ex is with a woman that worked in a detention center at one time... .I find that a little ironic. She might be able to handle him... .but maybe not!
