I feel sick today knowing nothing I could've done would've helped my ex gf. I know her too well and struck by her selfishness. She will not change, she will use her new target, it is not fair.

ITs hard to accept but its true. Once in a small moment of clarity my ex-husband left me a voice mail that said "there is nothing you could have done or not done that would have changed this". So even on some level he understood that. Now you just have to forgive yourself.

I understand how you feel. I feel like it was such a waste. I agree with the earlier comment. You have to forgive yourself. I know that some days are certainly worse than others. Every hour, day, week, month forward will not always be easy but I do think in the end things will be ok. Most of us here just need that time to heal.
