Questions about Instagram

So i have done some stalking. Im quilty. Half a year actually. I have stalked my replacement instagram. Its private, so i dont see anything (thank god), but i see numbers. He has something around 300 followers and he himself follows like 500 people. Number is increasing, but it seems that it grows 2 numbers up and 1 number down way. I dont get it. I dont have myself instagram, so its mystery a little bit.
Why these numbers change so much, sometimes even many times in one day? For example, in the morning there are 367 followers, daytime there is 369 and in the evening number is 368. Same goes for "following" number. Is there some logical Instagram explanation? like if some people are active or not active number changes or he himself adds and erases people? I have seen that people who have small number followers/followings the numbers stay same weeks sometimes, but his numbers are chaotic. Almost every day so far.
I know that its some sort of validation question and it feels like im working for CIA, but im wondering possible scenarios.

Hi happendtome,
Following your exe's husband's activities on Instagram is only going to delay your recovery. Why peek at his account online?

Great timing on this... .
I today decided to look up my BPD on instagram and she has her account private but it says she has 0 posts, as if she deleted everything. I regret looking her up cause As soon as I saw her face the hurting returned. Its been a month of NC and I still have dreams/nightmares of reconciliation... .what pains me the most is that she never reached out in the past month as if I didnt mean much to her.
Ill never look her up again for sure

Put it out of your mind immediately; it means nothing. I have 2 instagram accounts (one business, one personal) and all kinds of people follow me and unfollow me on a daily basis. MANY of these are businesses, people selling something or trying to generate 'likes' for their own page... .then when they realise that someone hasn't 'bitten' or followed them back, they unfollow. So it is very possible for an IG account to fluctuate in numbers on a daily basis.
Similarly, I may follow several new accounts of interest in a day, or unfollow others I've lost interest in. That's all I think you see happening here, and I really, really wouldn't waste another second of your life reading any more into it.
