I am a 29 year old male. I have been in therapy for a year now. I was raised ina broken home with a mother stuffing from BPD. As a caretaker I met a woman who is believed to also have BPD. she is now my fiancé and we have an amazing two year old little girl together. My brother and sister were diagnosed with BPD. My sister went through over six years of therapy and is now in a very healthy happy marrige with a daughter. The other three I have listed here have basically refused to get help. I also have traits myself as I have been engulfed in this for years. My therapist and I believe I am on a good path though there is still much work to be done. I learned about this site from "walking on eggshells" the book. I am joining to hear others stories and see what resources people can offer. As of right now I plan to stay with my fiancé and get married. So any advise would be wonderful!

Welcome Ander,

Sounds like BPD is very prevelennt in your life! I"m so glad you found this site because I cannot imagine how difficult it must be for you with so many BPD relationships to navigate.

Has your counselor diagnosed you with BPD? I'm just curious if he thinks you have BPD or if you have what we call, "catching fleas" from being around so many people with BPD.

We have a lot of great resources on this site. On the right side of the page are many workshops on various topics about being in a relationship with someone with BPD.

Hi and thanks for the welcome and response! I have not yet been diagnosed with BPD. I live with all the symptoms of a non BP.  Though I would say I have caught some fleas. I suffer from depression and anxiety which are under control for the most part at the moment.

My fiancé and I decided to have fajitas for dinner tonight. I volunteered to cook. She would not let me. I tried to intervene a few times and help but she was not having it. She kept telling me to get out of the kitchen. I know this will be thrown back in my face in the next few days. It's the small things like that which drive me crazy on a day to day basis. Sounds like a first world problem haha.

I am learning to focus more on building my own life. Searching new career choices and spending more time on me. This has also been a great challenge as my fiancé becomes very jealous when I try to do things on my own. It's hard to have my own space consistently without feeling guilty about it.

I have started looking into the resources on this site and am very pleased with what I see. So much to offer here. Thanks to everyone involved!  Smiling (click to insert in post)
