I am reaching out today for support. I just recently visited with my father and left the visit early due to his abusive behavior. I've always just questioned whether it was emotional abuse or a personality disorder and there is no diagnosis as of right now. I am an adult child, I am ready to heal and find support because it's crazy making.

Hi healing2day,
I'm glad that you decided to reach out for help, you're alone. I was hurt for a lot years from father that displays narcissistic traits and traits of an anxiety disorder. It helps to talk to others that can relate with you. Can you give us a little back story?

Hi Healing2day,
Welcome to the forum. I have made amazing progress since joining the forum, so there's hope for us all. Feel free to post the thoughts and behaviours you struggle with. I found this forum was good for validation, which a NPD/BPD never gives, in fact they tend to invalidate. Hence why validation helps us heal. Often we have been brought up to serve the abusive parent and ignore our own needs, but we all need to help ourselves sometimes. So feel free to post about yourself and what you need.
Most of us on here have been through it, so we should understand. BPD are very predictable in their behaviour, so don’t be surprised when people say “That happened to me”.
There are also lots of techniques on how to get the best out of a BPD, but before we go through all that ,it would be helpful to get a bit of background and know what you are keen to work on, if you’re comfortable enough doing that.
