Hello - this is my first post. I started going to therapy about a month ago. My therapist suggested that my mother may have BPD. She suggested walking on eggshells to me and I'm almost half way through. I am 99% certain that my mother does have BPD. The book mention BPDcentral.com, which has brought me to this forum. It's been really really heavy, challenging, relieving and eye opening starting to learn about BPD.

Welcome

Glad you found us, but sorry for the circumstances that bring you here.  Dealing with someone in our life that has BPD or at least suffers from traits of BPD is mentally, physically and emotionally draining.  Learning is a good thing... .something that can help us begin to look after ourselves as well as find ways that may help in navigating these difficult relationships.  The vast majority of members here either have or are dealing with someone with BPD or traits of the illness in their lives.  You'll find you are far from alone.  It's nice to hear you have the support of a good therapist as that is something many here have found to be a great source in their own journey.  Something many find to be cathartic is sharing here, and getting input and reactions from others who understand.  You've made a courageous start by getting some help and posting here for support.  If you feel comfortable, feel free to share some details of how you have gotten to where you are and the issues that you have had with your mother.  You've found the right place.

Hi LL,

I'd like to join drained1996 in welcoming you!

What kinds of things are you most struggling with,  and what behaviors are causing you the most pain?
