Social Security has ruled that I am disabled

This info is about 10 minutes old to me. You guys have shared so much of my struggles and recovery and helped me build a life with what I have... .vice ruminating about what I don't.
I'm happy and sad at the same time.
Sad to be validated that "I'm not the guy I used to be" (although that is obvious) and I'm also happy that others and "agencies" see me for what I am. The benefits will help as well.
I'm going out to enjoy a relaxed breakfast and do some thinking.
Thank you for all your support.

To think that the Biblical Counselor disputed your disabled status really pisses me off. It's a high bar to get the government to agree. And though it's sad to acknowledge that we move through different phases in life, it's also nice to get the benefits of life experience. Plus the $$$ benefits!

The validation is always nice. Sometimes we just need to know that our thinking and what we believe is correct.
and yes it is wrong for anyone, especially a church to judge that.
Glad you got the confirmation, well, no I am not, but you know what I mean.

Congratulations! I know from experience it is a tough ruling to get. The benefits extend beyond just money -- there are good resources available to you and your kids.

I think this is bittersweet- to acknowledge a disability- and also the assurance that the benefits will help your family. It is also validation to offset the accusations. You served our country- thank you for that.

Yup, I know lots of disabled folks that do not get labeled so by social security.
Most folks spend years in appealing them to finally get classified.
Am wih CatF on this... .pisses me off that BC questioned this and gave guidance in that direction to you and wife... . imo, so negligent.
