Hi There, I'm wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation as me and if they have ways of managing their feelings of guilt and anxiety. Without sharing the whole backstory my family has come to a point where we are all so hurt by my sister's impulsive behaviours. We all are aware that she has borderline personality disorder and try to empathize with her but her suicide threats during the holidays and her intimidating behaviours have gotten to be too much. Last Christmas I was left being the only family member still speaking with her and almost a year later I've found it to be too hard on me. It's definitely affected my emotional well being and has pulled my focus away from my kids and husband. I was having troubles sleeping and always worried when I decided I needed a break from the relationship. I carefully constructed an email to her to let her know I needed to focus on my health and that I would be out of touch for a while. I've also made an appointment to speak with a psychologist to help me decide how I'd like to navigate the relationship but in the mean time I have a lot of feelings of guilt because I know I was the last family tie she had at this time. Does anyone have any advice?

I think we have all felt guilt at some point with our loved one, and more often than not it is a long personal battle we each face. You will learn how to walk through it as you take care of you and begin the journey to healing and recovery.

I hope this link will be helpful to you. How soon is your appointment with the T? Good for you!  Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)
