Finally...a truly stress-free Holiday Season

This is my first Holiday Season without any BPDs in my life. I thought some folks might like to see what life looks like AFTER a long-term BPD relationship.
It feels
wonder-full
- Life itself is FULL of wonder!
There are peace and joy abounding.
I can wrap my arms around my life and truly call it my own!
I can relax and savor healthy interactions with friends and family who know how to laugh and enjoy themselves... .no strings attached.
This is truly a blessed way to live... .opening each new day like the magic of an advent calendar.
There are still daily challenges, of course; but choosing my reactions and no longer being gassed by FOG (Fear, Obligation and Guilt) are the best presents I ever gave myself!
Wishing all of you a truly blessed Holiday Season this year!

Hi qkslvrgirl,
I’m happy to hear that you’ve found peace after a breakup with a pwBPD I like your attitude and how you feel like each day is a blessing. I share similar feelings.
Happy Holidays

Hey quicksilver girl, Thanks! I'd like to echo Mutt and and say that it's great to hear how well you are doing after parting ways with your pwBPD. Like you, I'm grateful for the peace and joy after emerging from the throes of marriage to a pwBPD.
Yes, getting one's life back is the best present!

I am 7 years post BPD divorce. Stress-free happy holidays were the first benefit DD realized in our changed lives. She still expresses her appreciation for enjoyable holidays and activities. Detaching, shaking a BPD loose is not easy but oh, so worth it!
Happy Holidays to everyone! May your joy overflow and your boundaries be strong!

Girl, Aint that the truth!
I have been out of my relationship for close to four years. Last year was the first time I truly enjoyed the holidays. She dumped me before every major holiday. My birthday is in November so I usually was "partner-less" October-January and horrifically depressed, isolating myself from the people who truly loved me. She picked a fight with me on NYD and left... .
It's funny, I have very few "trinkets" from our relationship because every holiday she was AWOL. .
I don't miss any of it!
The holidays should be fun, filled with love, family and friends. Pretty lights and giving from your heart. Vacations, don't get me started... .those should be the same, !
Once the FOG lifts it's like being a kid again... .there's that excitement and joy that had been missing for a long time.
I am so grateful and happy you have your holiday joy back! Wishing you and yours a very wonderful season!
