Pets and Obsessive Behavior

Hi,
Wondering if anyone out there has a similar experience. My wife is so obsessed with our 2 dogs. I love dogs, I didnt have one as a kid and wanted one so bad. After I moved out of my parents house and got a place of my own I adopted a dog. I've had 2 dogs since then.
My wife had a dog before we were married and now we have 2 in the house. I can't understand if its a part of BPD or something else? She is obsessive with them. We have to drive over an hour to the vet because we started with that vet before we moved. The dog can't be groomed anywhere but one place by one person and my wife has to stay there while the dog is groomed. We spend thousands of dollars on frivolous visits to the vets. We go there and she makes demands to the vet that they need to make special arrangements. I totally love animals but I cant understand the intensity of her obsession.
She had a breakdown before we had our son because she saw a commercial on TV where the dog got less attention after a child was born.
Now i'm seeing similar behavior with our son. There are so many rules, i feel like he's going to develop some type of complex. She's just so nervous and anxious that we have no time to enjoy life. Everything is in a constant crisis mode.
thanks

Hi GreenSea,
I can’t speak for your topic pwBPD being obsessive with dogs I have read posts where the pwBPD became jealous of the attention that their So gave to their dogs. I just wanted to say that when a pwBPD feel out of control it sounds to me like she’s trying to control the environment to some extent with your S and your dog it’s because a pwBPD feel out of control in the inside. I’m sure that someone will come along and share their experience with their ex pwBPD.
