Brother with Narcissitic PD likely...

New to the board. The impact of my brother's toxic and aggressive rants are aimed at me and it's impacting how I feel almost all day long sometimes. Cannot seem to put it away. Just looking for support, examples, validation (a bit) and ways others have handled these flare ups.

Hi Littlesister72
Dealing with verbal abuse and aggression is quite unpleasant and can indeed be difficult to deal with. Since when has your brother been behaving this way? Was he always like this or did his behavior take a turn for the worse at some point?
Do you and your brother currently live in the same house?
Take care and welcome to bpdfamily

Hi littlesister and welcome to the board. You are definitely in the right place for validation and understanding. We all are dealing with a family member with BPD or BPD traits here so please post, ask questions, read.
What happens to you when your brother rants? Do you shut down, panic, feel scared?
There are several tools that can help stop a situation from escalating. They are not a guarantee though and that is when boundaries become especially important. Are you familiar with boundaries or had any success with them?
Please share more so we can better help you.
Take care
