Hi, I am joining this group because my therapist recommended I read the Stop Walking on Eggshells book to help me cope with my relationship with my mother, whom we believe may have BPD/BPD. I have been in therapy for 2 years working to heal from my childhood abuse (neglect, physical, emotional, sexual abuse) and live a healthy adult life.

Hi and welcome.  I am glad you found us and decided to post.  You landed in a place where we experienced similar and are working on our own healing, so I am glad you posted.

A great place to start is to look over on the right hand side of the page at the Survivor's Guide.  Each item on the list is clickable and expands.  Where do you think you fall in terms of the Guide?  What sort of things are you currently working on?

sorry for all the questions.  I hope you feel free to explore and jump in with any of the discussions we have going on here.

You are in a safe and supportive place.  We get it here.

You are working on a healthy adult life after childhood abuse. You have come to the right place. There are many regular members on this site who are here to listen and support you as we have spent many years working on bettering our lives after realizing we were victims of childhood abuse. You are in therapy and aware of how this has affected you. Some days and moments are harder than others, yet with time things do get better. Do go through this site, and read the materials and let us know how you are doing. I have been here for several months now, and this site has helped me tremendously in healing from childhood abuse and ongoing family abuse, and finding out ways to speed the healing process. Please let us know how we can best help, and what your questions and concerns are.

Hi ISOLATEDME,

Welcome to our group  Welcome new member (click to insert in post)  I'm glad you decided to jump in and post.

Can you tell us what your relationship with your mother is like currently?  Are there other family members that are part of your story? Can you share more of your story?  The nosy Panda is just trying to get a better feel for where you are on your journey and get an idea of where we can help

I'd also like to point out the box to the right ---> each item is a link to more information.  I encourage you to explore whatever resonates with you.

I hope you will share more of your story when you are ready, there are many members here that I have found to be smart, empathetic, caring, and with great ideas.  Again welcome, I'm glad you've joined us.

Take Care,

Welcome ISOLATEDME,

You fit right in here on this board. I look forward to learning more about you and how we may help you navigate through the difficult waters of loving a person with BPD (whether diagnosed or undiagnosed).

What would you say is your most pressing concern in coping with your mother?

I read that book in 2013. This updated one by the same author is said to be better,  but nothing wrong with reading SWOE: Essential Family Guide - Randi Kreger

Is it just your mom,  or who else has hurt you in your life that ended up bringing you here?

I and all of us hope to hear more how best we can support you.

Welcome
