for some perspective on this, we all mirror. mirroring facilitates bonding. as infants, the mirroring we receive (or dont receive) from our caretakers help us form a sense of self and who we become.
so if youre telling me a story, and im looking you in the eye, listening, nodding my head, laughing at your jokes, im mirroring you. its not exactly the same thing as "copy catting" or "mimicking"; regarding that, some people do it to lesser or greater degrees, but in a new relationship its usually at its height... .we pick up some of each others mannerisms, habits, language, hobbies, etc.
some of us mirror to greater degrees, because we dont know, or dont like who we are, or we dont know who/how to be and we expect others to define that.
for the person youre describing, the disclosure of her sexuality may be something shes decided shes less comfortable with, she may feel pressure to do so, its hard to say.
