Hi FaithHopeLove
I am very sorry to hear this. You finally were feeling some hope again and then this happens.
Unfortunately the behavior he exhibited here isn't that uncommon in people struggling with addiction. There might still be hope for him. Have you perhaps talked to the hospital staff or the people from the rehab facility about your son leaving the airport?
Where is your son now? Have you and/or your husband talked to him?

We talked to hospital staff. They are of no help
Right now our son is in his apartment getting high
There is no point in talking to him now.

Very unfortunate indeed that he is again using drugs. How were you able to confirm that? Did your husband see your son at his apartment?
Perhaps directly reaching out to the rehab facility might be an option. Maybe they have some ideas for possible next steps. Have you had any direct contact with the rehab facility?

My husband went to his apartment and saw the drugs.
The rehab facility called and said to try to talk our son into flying out today so my husband is trying that.

Ohh Faith, how sad this is.
You have to let go..as much as you love him you can't help him. When he left that airport he made a decision.
Is there a therapist who can help you through this time?

Oh Faith I am terribly sorry. I am just reading through messages and found this .
I feel your heartbreak. My son was all about going to rehab after being released from hospital . Instead he spent $40 at the liquor store one day after being released . Eventually he got kicked out of his cousin's as the deal was go to rehab and he will have shelter and food at the cousins.
I am so sorry. I have no words right now, but know that we/ I am there with you during this heart wrenching disappointment.
