My son in law is biopolar. He is now on new meds which slowly but surely are helping, thank goodness! I am wondering how do I support him and my daughter. They live in another state.

Hi and welcome!

We talk mostly about pwBPD (people with Borderline Personal;ity Disorder) but we have members who are coping with people who have multiple diagnosis' and the coping tools and strategies we talk about here are useful in any relationship.  Basically what I am saying is that you are in a good place to learn strategies.   Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)

What sort of issues are you hoping to help with?  Is your daughter getting support for herself as well?  What are some of the issues you see?

As you share more, we can more easily make recommendations.

I hope to hear from you soon.

I have been in frequent contact with the both of them, although as I said, they are in another state. I just have made sure that they both know they can talk with me and that I will listen with love, with respect, and without judgment. So, I think this is the best way I can help.

I don't know what kind of support my daughter is getting, although I suspect they might be getting family counseling. There are no issues between them that I am aware of. They love each other and their children very much so. He had a horrible childhood with dysfunctional parents. He has a lot of family on his side. They have a lot of friends as well.
