I got word from my lawyer this morning that the legal divorce is official!

Despite some really intense BPD abuse and gaslighting the last few weeks, including attempts at extortion, triangulating with family, half hearted recycle attempts from her, etc. we reached a settlement and the court has approved it. I'll have to take a loan out to get rid of her, but it's better than the court direction this looked to be heading which my attorney said would have been far worse.

I got the dog, the most important thing to me, as she would abuse her and use her as leverage to abuse and manipulate me and those around her. Same with the guinea pig.

I want to personally thank everyone here for all your support during these 7 months off hell since she left. I was deep in the FOG, scared, broken, alone. I still have a lot of healing to do but the rebuilding starts now.

Congratulations man! I’m so happy for you!

Now that the legal and logistic part is over, you can focus on the healing journey. In your case you don’t have kids so NC is your best option.  Once the money transfers or logistics are over proceed wit blocking her everywhere. Your life will be so much better in a few months. You will be in such a good place. Can’t wait to hear your success story  here in a few months !

I'm very happy for you in getting over this hurdle. Removing this huge splinter from your wound will enable your healing process to move forward even more. As a dog owner myself, I'm so happy you got custody of your dog. Pets are good medicine for the soul!

Thank you both so much! That really means a lot to me and no one understands more than the people on this site. We've all been through the unique BPD hell. The only concern I have with blocking her is that she has a history of making surprise appearances when people block her out of their lives. I'm considering a very LC, where I don't initiate contact and if she contacts me I'm just boring as heck so she eventually gives us and moves on to someone more entertaining. I've seen people cut her out of their lives like this and it worked. What do you guys think?

I can't wait to hear all of your success stories as well!

And yes, animals are great medicine for the soul and me and my pup have many happy hikes coming up Smiling (click to insert in post)
