I've been reading recently about BPD and I'm afraid my wife may suffer from it.  I'm not sure how to approach this, how to talk to her, and how to get us help.  Any experiences others have been through might be helpful.  Thank you.

Welcome and hello  Smiling (click to insert in post)

What are some of the behaviors that are the most challenging? What are the conflicts about?

Maybe we can start there and walk with you as you sort through all of this.

Hi mase46,

Welcome

I'd like to join  Bullet: contents of text or email (click to insert in post) livednlearned and welcome you to  bpdfamily. I notice that you're bring careful about bringing up mental illness to your partner. There's a good reason, if we turn the telescope the other way around and someone told us that we're mentally ill, we might be offended, reject it, accuse the person telling us that we're mentally ill that they're mentally ill or feeling like its an accusation. That sounds grim and there's probably room in there for acceptance and that depends on the individual, do they sense that there's something off with them, are they self aware, do they generally have awareness, do they feel like they can share their illness with others and feel supported.

Her reality is as real to her as yours is to you, what she knows, what she filters and what she interprets is her benchmark for her reality. I hope that helps.
