Putting the pieces back together
«

We were shattered... .
We have been working very hard on processing our past and understanding who we are
We have unearthed heaps of hurt and suffering including VA, PA, EA, and SA starting as a toddler
We now know we have a dissociative disorder
As a means of self-preservation we created selves that endured our abuse
this allowed us to live in the world as an "normal" kid
it allowed us to believe that TheMother had our best interests at heart
when in reality she could care less.
We are NC
this has been the best thing for us
we are working though flashbacks, body memories, intrusive thoughts
All remnants of her sadistic abuse
We must breathe,
focus on here and now,
acknowledge our experience,
accept our past,
care for our precious little ones
have self-compassion

We grew up with sick or difficult ones
Bending and hiding to carry our load
Until it grew too heavy
Until we realized that we were alone
For each step that I take forward there is a moment of imbalance
The pain of detaching is at its worst
But I know that I need to keep going
As it is the only way forward
