What was your songs?

Ok, this is really triggering and stupid.
But I want to take back the songs I used to love! And, I'm really curious what "your" songs were like, knowing how intense these
relationships
interactions are! Also, I wonder, who decided if they were "your" songs? I find it funny that what she considered our song is so borderline, and I never accepted it.
Our songs:

Journey - don't stop beliving. We had it on while doing the best intercourse I have ever had. The song also fitted very well to our two different personalities. Thank you for reminding me of that. It's actually one of my good memories from the beginning of our relationship. She hated the song at the end of it. Requesting that we shut it off every time it came on. It was a little heartbreaking I quess. Like she would often push away good memories.

Our song was "Come what May"from the film "Moulin Rouge". Her favourite film,she used to describe us as being like the two main love interests from the movie (looking back the irony. Me in the role of the sensitive poet consumed by love as played by Ewan Mcgregor,and her as the ___ played by Nicole Kidman.Hmm why didnt i see that red flagjavascript:void(0);
I used to sing it to her at karaoke, (without tooting my own trumpet,it was one song i could absolutely nail and have the crowd transfixed,because it was so different from my usual rock songs i would sing).She would cry tears of happyness whenever i would sing it,proclaiming to everyone "thats my fiance,im going to spend the rest of my life with him" I cant even hear it now without tearing up javascript:void(0);

The similarities in our relationships is astounding. The song she introduced to me was Demons by Imagine Dragons. Didn't see the red flag on that one! I used to sing Crazy by Patsy Cline to her. Sure enough after one month of NC after our relationship was over the song was posted on CL with my name attached to it. Of course I can't say for sure if that post was for me but it sure was a coincidence.

That is rather eerie Recooperating. My ex was obsessed with Moulin Rouge,wanted our wedding to be themed around it (Come what may was to be our first dance,she was only telling people this days before she ended the relationship) .I suppose in a way its quite a fitting story for a BPD relationship in some ways.The only difference is that in the end I couldnt break through the act she plays for the public and get to the real soul inside (i suppose with the lack of personal identity characterised in BPD i was essentually searching for something that wasnt there) Sounds like we have had similarities in our experience

We were to get married and Im sure he would encorperate it in the wedding to!

I know this thread is about "our song" during the relationship, but I have examples of songs that in a way express how I feel about those toxic relationships now.

And now when I contemplate my current life, my liberation from the chaos, and regaining my dignity, the song below comes to mind. I wish everyone here all the best. Happiness and healing.

The Palace Brothers is an interesting choice as one of the first things I played to my ex was Bonnie Prince Billy's The Letting Go. There were two things she kept referring to during our time together. Joanna Newsom's Have One On Me and Lana Del Rey's first album. Newsom was my introduction and the story behind the album is that Newsom had been very ill and lost a baby. My ex had also lost a baby and for that she was fascinated by Newsom. Del Rey was a mutual discovery and I find it hard listening to her now. Not least the new album where Del Rey is stalking a guy and they end up dancing with each other in the end. There is something so bitter and foreboding in that song and its video and it's painful to take in.

She loved pink floyd, and got me into them. Now when I listen to them, I think of her half the time. Brain Damage is the song I most associate with her. I happened to really like it. Lotta memories of us holding each other while some Pink Floyd played. I think its a fond set of memories I think I'll hold on to, as it was "the good times."
Coincidentally, there was a cute girl I knew in high school that loved Pink Floyd, I still sometimes have dreams about her. Hell, I still swoon at just her name when I think of her. Too bad I was an overweight binge drinking (self medicating) a-hole back then. Least she was still friendly. . .oh and its sort of a different story, but what's it mean when a girl tries to look into your pants to see your junk after you hug her while having a "semi?"
So yeah, love me some Pink Floyd now.

Exactly the same. Especially "High Hopes". I think I should have a closer look at the lyrics... .
