My exBPDgf fit the MPDG stereotype perfectly.  I've done some researching, and it appears that women who fit into this particular type are clear candidates for having BPD.  Anyone think there might be any truth to this?

Did anyone else have a similar experience with their partners?

Most definitely, mine always compared herself to Blanche from "A Street Car Named Desire", I think that character fits her perfectly.

Ha! My ex had a poster from that movie, saying "I don't listen to you when you're being morbid". I have to watch it.

I read the Wikipedia description and character examples. They way they use the character is fairy open to interpretation but they indicate a girl that has some sort of issues. Some sort of arrested development. Quite possibly BPD but not necesarily.

A good example of this character would be portrayed by natalie Portman and if you look at her filmography throughout her career it paints a good overall portrait of this character.

Yeah I think of movies like Silver Linings Playbook, Girl Interrupted, 500 Days Of Summer and such. Honestly, the women in those movies really attracted me, argh!

My wife loathed the "girly" girls and was almost on the butch side... .but in a old-fashioned woman-like fashion. She fell between gender stereotypes actually.

I just read that list.  I want to watch all those movies now.  But from the ones I have watched it sure fits the bill of capturing some of that magic of the initial stages of the relationship with my ex.

Sort of a counterbalance to the femme fattale character of film noire.

My ex always identified with tinker bell from peter pan. Made me watch the pixar cgi styled animated movies about her too. With her blonde hair in a bun she definitely looks like tinker bell. But much like a fairy you cant capture them and when we try too hard to make them ours theyll fly away leaving behind only pixie dust but not enough to fly in highs they once provided.

I would also suggest adding girls who are really into the "Sexy Kitty Cat" persona to the list of Red Flags.
