Substitute "she" with "he".   Beautiful melancholy song that made me think of my pwBPD.   Listening to it on repeat for about an hour while driving home from a New Year's Eve party in torrential rain helped me somehow.

Happy New Year, everyone.   x

When things were falling apart I heard Grimes' Flesh Without Blood and it was so amazing. There are affirmations there. I find that singing along with songs that acknowledge feelings you have and also have messages of what you wanna feel/stop feeling can be very healing.

"you had every chance, you destroy everything that you know... .I don't see the light I saw in you before and now I just don't care anymore"

Music makes things better. I've written about 6 songs about this girl and it helps me track the relationship and remember what it was like during the relationship because they came at the start, at the middle and at the end... .

Others should share the song(s) that helps them cope here Smiling (click to insert in post)

Yes, I think that's it. The song matched my mood and gave me some words that sounded as if a friend was saying them to me lovingly.  I felt heard [how ironic Smiling (click to insert in post) ]. I think that may be what made me sad for the journey, the realisation filling my little car, of how little I had been heard, or seen, not to speak of cherished. I felt like I'd been emptied of myself somehow, used up, and then blamed for being empty. I, who had always been so full.

Music makes things better. Poetry does too.

Great! Thank you, thisworld. Smiling (click to insert in post)

I think I'll make my own list and track what songs help when and use it to see how the meandery path of my recuperation. Because with each passing day I seem to become more aware of how injured I am. I am surprised by this. Things are coming back to me from long ago and I'm seeing what was actually going on and that none of it was actually about me. I was no more real than the internet girls he spent 3 days with after I broke up. Oh god. How blind I was.

This is normal, I guess ?

I think it's normal and we are finally finding some time to focus on ourselves. Things surface and sometimes it's hard to accept that this wasn't as personal as we think it may be. Scary even.

Oh yes, I know it well. It's on my one and only car tape ( v old car) and I must've listened to it 12000 times at least.

Love it. It has always made me laugh though. Weirdly.
