I read your story.

Your final sentence is a serious one.

At 30, you should be looking seriously for a person you can be with. Not all relationships have this dynamic, and not all of them end in the other person choosing polyamory.  You should give yourself a real shot at finding someone can create a secure emotional bond with you.

You may want to seek counseling for yourself to help deal with the loss of your previous four year relationship. In those sessions, perhaps you'll uncover some past trauma that affects your own self-worth. These feelings may be triggered in the push-pull you're getting from this person.

It does not sound good that you live so close to this person. You may want to consider making a dramatic change for yourself and establishing a new pathway leading you out of this cycle with this person.
