I am exactly where I need to be, right now.

« on: January 24, 2018, 12:35:37 PM »

Hi All,

I just wanted to let you all know my great news.  Many of you know my story from my thread back here, and will know that this has been a heavy burden for some months now.  Today I had the final full day hearing in family court where my ex partner and son Ty's father had applied for a child arrangement order in favour of himself being the main carer for Ty, for Ty to live with him and for me to 'spend time  with' my son.  He was also attempting to reduce the time I was spending with Ty.

It was a tough day.  Dan denied everything in my statement was true, which I'd expected, and his solicitor took the dirty fighting approach, but my guy was steady and represented me really well.  The social worker still believed Dan's lies about an incident that didn't happen, which was their key reasoning for supporting his case.  As neither of us was interviewed, I was unable to respond but I felt my written statement spoke volumes.  It was a bit surreal for 2 hours whilst waiting for the decision, as it could have gone either way and what would happen next really was in the hands of the universe.

The outcome was that the court decided to grant my request for a shared care arrangement, giving both of us equal rights and responsibilities as parents, and that Ty will live with both of us.  They also decided that the care will be split exactly 50/50 between us, which is what I had proposed.  I was so happy to hear the result that I felt tears streaming down my face.  I think the panel knew then that they had made the right decision.

Family, I thank you for being in my corner through this, for your wise counsel, encouragement, love and support during the last few months.  I really don't think I could have made it through without you.  Feel so blessed to have you all in my world.  When I felt I was falling apart with the stress and anxiety, you guys put me back together.  I owe you all a debt of gratitude.

Yes you were just love bombed  Smiling (click to insert in post)

So the moral of my post is this.  Always stay strong, push ahead, hold on tight to your values and never ever ever give up on what is right and good for yourselves or your children.  This man has in the past (and has just tried again very hard to) run me into the ground and left me feeling worthless.  Thanks to my friends and Family I have stood my ground and proven to myself once and for all that we truly can achieve anything against all adversity.  I wish the same for each of you wonderful folks out there in your lives.  You deserve so much.

Love and light enough to turn night into day xxx

I am so proud of you HQ for seeing your worth not only as a mother, but also as a person! I know that a few times you felt beaten down and struggled. But, you picked yourself up, dusted yourself off, and fought your battle with grace and style even though, at the moment, it felt like it would be easier to give in. That takes a lot of strength.

HQ, that is truly wonderful news! I am so happy for you and your son!

I know this has been such a source of stress and anxiety for you, the sense of relief must be incredible! You worked so hard to make this happen!

I've noticed is that regardless of where each of us are in our journey, we seem to pass through some very similar territory.
As terrible and difficult as this situation was, the experience you've had will help many others here as they go through their own battles.

I'm so glad it turned out this way HQ! Congratulations!

Yes, yes, yes! Congratulations to you HQ, pheww.

We've all been on tenterhooks, knowing this was your big day HQ.

You lived and shared your truth HQ all way through the most trying of circumstances and rightly validated today 24/01/2018, such a special day to be celebrated years to come in your own way.

You've been on a long journey, you've dug deep, my experience is this is the relief point I needed to gradually up my self-care as I'd been on auto pilot like you with my situation, it hit me slowly and surely, I worked it through gently, it was like getting the scales to balance, overtime. We can talk about that, another time, I just wished to share with you, we care.

My very best wishes to you, Ty, your family and your friends on this very special day.

Oh HQ, I'm so proud of you and the strength and courage you maintained to do the tough stuff and stand up for YOU! I know it was hard, but look at you and the reward, both for you and your son.

Hooray!

Thanks everyone for your wonderfully supportive and touching replies.     I'm really ill (nothing major - just a good dose of the ming courtesy of my darling boy) yet totally over the moon.  Can't wait to get back into the swing here with a clear mind free of worry about this.  I feel like me again and that's an amazing feeling.

Love and light x
