In this video, Jordan Peterson PhD shares information on how to help a person who is resistant to getting help and the psychological dangers of continually trying to help that person when they will not listen. He answers the question that many of us ask about our pwBPD, "How can I get him/her to change?"

If you google Jordan Peterson and Borderline Personality Disorder there is a video from like 20 years ago (he looks really young in this video) where he is describing BPD to one of his students. It’s a fascinating description, check it out!

This is the first time that I’ve seen this, but these are the precise analogies I’ve been using myself.  This affirms for me in simple, straight forward language that I need to return to that and that this is an appropriate, loving approach even knowing my loved one’s BPD diagnosis.

This video was exactly what I needed today. His no nonsense answer to how to help someone who doesn’t want to be helped was to be an example of living a healthy life and stop offering a hand up when its not wanted.
