Residential Treatment Recommended For Teen Son
«

Hi everyone! I am in California. I have a 15 year old son. His physician is not sure whether he has bipolar or BPD. Regardless, the recommendation has been made that we consider residential treatment. I had originally found a facility that looked promising called "Evolve Treatment" but some of the reviews seem as though they may have been written by staff. I see more genuine, positive reviews with Polaris Teen treatment center. Does anyone have experience with either? Or is there another facility someone has experience with that they would recommend?
Thanks so much in advance.

Welcome PartyOf5, I'm in Oregon on the central coast. So I cannot say anything about hospitals where you are. My BPDD is 35, she has been hospitalized 3 times, during that time frame we lived in Arizona. I can tell you that states mental health system is horrible.
So let me just welcome you, say we are glad your here. Meaning that you have found the right place to come to for support, options and all kinds of educational items. Please feel comfortable enough to share more of your story, the end result maybe of what you decide as far as the hospital.

Hi Partyof5
Just checking in with you to see how you and your son are doing? I notice that there has been a limited response from members in recommendations for treatment. Have you been able to engage with professionals to determine the appropriate path. It would be great to hear from you as I'm sure many members would also benefit from what you have been able to find out.
How have you found the information on the board.
You can update your thread here:

Hope you are doing well.
Regards
