JN Chell,
Roping the wind sounds like a great analogy as well for loving a pwBPD. You can wear yourself out trying the impossible.
Also reminds me of the sound of music... .
How do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
Also in that song:
How do you keep a wave upon the sand?
I feel like I based my life around trying to find the answers to questions like these.

, “In The Blood” made me cry. I’d never heard it before. I was glad when John Mayer exited the main stream. Thank you for the song.

Not a song, but a poem I wrote -
My heart crystalline
Baked by the words I didn’t want to hear
But couldn’t shut out
Sticky gooey sweet emotion rose up in a
swirling mist
evaporated
Hope trembled no more
Fallen to the floor like stemware
Hitting the counter
I couldn’t catch it.
Who knew it was breakable?

Adding this one. There are no lyrics. Sometimes the instrumental stuff speaks as well.

JNChell, music is so healing, thanks for starting this thread. I’m a pianist and playing takes me to another place. “In the Blood” really speaks to me, glad you enjoyed it.
I’ve also been listening to “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac- always a favorite of mine.

Agreed,
Mustbeabetterway
.
Music can definitely be therapeutic to many. On the flip side, I’ve found it to be triggering at times as well. I can hear a song that she and I shared and become very emotional. Things are getting a little better, though. Recently, I’ve been reading through some of my earlier posts. I’m far from being truly healed and at peace with myself, but I can honestly say that I’ve made some progress. It’s reassuring.
I’m glad that you’ve been finding this thread helpful. How are things going for you in your detaching process? I hope you’re having a nice weekend,

"Is there a song that describes your ":)ance"?
For me it would be, "You could be my baby", on the
Just Crazy Enough
album, by SHEL.
My deal: Older woman, much younger musician with "mommy issues" which developed into an alluring cocktail of Cluster B disorders. Nothing about the pairing was realistic other than each other's "itch".
He broke it off suddenly, after a seven-month Soulmate dance that seemed to take place on another planet.
After the "it's over" text accompanied by a laundry list of wild-ass Totally false crazed-accusations, FOLLOWED by love notes, pleadings, FOLLOWED by wild-ass Totally false crazed-accusations. All because I interrupted him (that was it! I did an unscheduled 'cross-talk'. Crazy!
Over that next week -- He loved me, He hated me. It was a swinging door and he really, really wanted buy-in for each cycle. But, I had been through the spin already, once before.
For me, this song by SHEL will Always be the signature tune for this just-ended, CRAZY based-on-music love affair.

(Actually, I have a people-pleaser face which, actually is why he was attracted to me ~*~ But THIS would do!)

Hey there,
Mustbeabetterway
! I’m sorry for my late reply. Things have been rather hectic lately, but should start to smooth out soon.
Thanks for asking, and I’m happy to hear that you’re moving forward with your detaching. Keep your eye on the prize. We will get there. I had an emotional setback over the weekend, but I’m doing as well as I can be with everything. The support here is amazing. If I didn’t start participating with this support group, I think that things could potentially be very stunted in my recovery. It’s folks like you that help on a daily basis. Thank you for checking in.

Hi,
I Am Redeemed
! I apologize for my late response, and thank you for contributing to the thread.
I feel like I based my life around trying to find the answers to questions like these.
I’m with you on this. Do you possibly feel like you based your life around these questions long before you met your person/s wBPD? Have you been able to take these feelings back in time in a sense, and evaluate them in relation to your FOO? I apologize for not reading your back story before asking these questions. I’ve been very busy recently, and have a window to do some catching up here this evening. Please bare with me. Thank you for getting involved in the thread. Your input helps all of us.

Hi,
Ex2BPD
!
You could be my baby, you seem just crazy enough
What is it about this song that signifies your dance with your pwBPD? The chorus immediately stuck out to me. Are you ok with interpreting how this song has meaning to you within your experience?

Hello,
TheSomberlain
. Thanks for adding to the thread. I enjoy my share of metal, so this is a pleasant surprise. Megadeth, Metallica, Pantera, Iron Maiden, AssJack. I may be a little further down the road age wise, but those are some bands that have stuck with me for their musical talent and message. In my “old age” of 41, I’m very immersed in songwriters. You know, folky Americana type stuff. I’ll always have my favorite, The Allman Brothers Band, but I’m a musician and can appreciate any genre.
Yet I still come, like a moth to a flame in assurance of pain
We knew it, at least on some level, but we kept allowing it back into our lives. Why do you think we did this?

Cromwell
, I’m glad that you joined the thread!
I’ve not heard that band before, but I like them. They have a similar ring to the Traveling Wilbury’s. Not sure if you’re familiar. They were a compilation project with some heavy hitters. They’re worth checking out.
What is conveyed in that song is very true in our experiences. That back and forth follows us even when we’re no longer around our exes. It’s like our feelings and emotions got some what conditioned to the treatment. We allowed ourselves to be pushed and pulled so much, that it still lingers in odd and almost unnoticeable ways.
Cromwell

Hi,
juju2
! Thanks for participating in the thread!
And if you say something that you might even mean
It's hard to even fathom which parts I should believe
This verse stuck out to me. My ex would say things that it seemed like she really meant. And I believe that she did in the moment. The problem is, it was never sustainable for her. It would pass her by quickly. What was it like for you when your ex would tell you something that felt sincere, but wasn’t followed through on?
