Well, as I live and breathe, my lawyer has a hearing date so she can possibly get paid.

The law firm for my soon-to-be-ex FIL has requested that they be removed as counsel before that date.

We will see what happens.

I am feeling particularly snarky this morning because of bills not being paid and repairs not being done. As a result, this morning I emailed the people responsible (CPA, prop mgr, others) to let them know I would take care of routine maintenance, unless prohibitively expensive, and I'd start paying the bills the CPA can't seem to pay on time.

Snarky or not, I've got to admit it feels quite excellent to draw that proverbial line in the sand, take control over things I can.

And I presume you made it clear that these items are still in dispute (or some resolution) in the divorce and are expecting them to be eventually reimbursed in the eventual settlement or decision.
