Hello everyone, as noted in the title this is my first time reaching out to the BPD community. After 8 years of struggling to understand my spouse’s behavior my counselor recommended the I read “stop walking on eggshells”... and it was revelatory. It’s been months since I started on this path, and I feel it’s time to integrate with the community to understand and to heal. Thank you all for having this up for families like mine.

The next big question is where to begin and how do I select a good therapist to help me handle the situation?

Hi and welcome.  I am glad you posted and are reaching out for support.  We definitely get it here so I hope you settle in and read and jump into other threads.  it is a big help if you are active here as we all learn from each other.

A good place to start is to check out the resources here:
HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THIS SITE

Do you not want to stay with your current counselor?

Again, Welcome

Thank you for the tip Harri, thanks you for the tip since I am still new to the site. As for the counselor, we are looking for a new one since our last one just dropped us because we were such a tough case. I have always been supportive of going with the therapist she demands because she would at least go. At this point I can’t afford to let it happen anymore, so I am choosing one that specializes in personality disorders. It’s just hard to choose when you feel limited in information.
