Hi
NotAHero,

I'm not familiar with the books your T mentioned, but Mindfulness and Acceptance are both great topics. Mindfulness, staying in the present, has helped me a lot as I heal. It's not easy, but as you practice these things you'll gain the ability to be mindful for longer periods of time.
What do you think of the suggestions your T made? Is there one you like or can grasp better than another?
Wools
I started reading Trap of Happiness. It seems that mindfulness and ACT ( acceptance and commitment therapy) are intertwined .
Instead of “running away” from negative thoughts, be mindful of them, let them flow without judgment then stay in the moment. If the thought is fear from the future or ruminating the past then practice clarity - that the thought is irrelevant to the present moment.
To apply it to us here suffering on the detachment boards, ruminating will not change anything so why not live the moment instead ? I think my new T may have thought I’m a bit more advanced than I am
