Are there any recommendations out there for a good book to help a teenager understand BPD and how to deal with it and still love his/her parent (in this case, mother)? I don't want to give him something that mentions BPD by name, though, because I am sure there will come a day when he wouldn't be able to help but say it.

Perhaps something that talks about how to love/understand/support someone with anxiety, depression, trust issues, boundary issues, controlling and/or manipulative behaviors, twisted thinking, etc.?

... . especially one that helps him still be able to love his mother, in spite of not liking some of the situations her condition frequently creates.

If the teen is older and mature - 17 or older maybe - you could probably use some of the books reviewed on this site (which aren't specifically for teens).  Younger than that, it will be more up to you to explain things in an understandable way.  I think there may be a children's book out there.  Check out the book review page!
