He and my replacement broke up a few weeks ago. I still miss him and think of him every day. I try to date other people and all I think of is him.
I want to text him saying "Okay here's the thing. I still miss you and really care about you. I pass you every day on my way to work and it makes think of you. I miss how natural everything felt when we were together. There's been others since you and I've ended it every time because my heart is just not in it. You don't need to answer, but if you want to, I'm leaving the door open"

How do you think he will react? I just love him and I can't stop.

Oh wow. I so understand that feeling. I have no advice at all. I just wanted to reach out and let you know you are not alone.

My opinion, don't do it, I broke contact, waited around for an answer, tied myself up in knots, and went through 3 weeks of hell, which resulted in her changing her number, you/We are here for a reason, and it never changes, it's incredibly hard, walk away.

I think it's a poor idea, though I understand the feeling. I have resisted all urges to contact my BPD exgf and am so glad that I did. I am feeling stronger every day having realized that she's no good for me and that I deserve and can find somebody so much better. There is a reason you are on this site and are hurting, and healing from that does not come from contact with the person who is the source of such pain. Good luck in whatever you choose.

hi papayagirl,

i think if your goal is to reach out in order to reconnect, a lighter approach would be more effective. the text you laid out could be a bit much too soon. what do you think?

how long ago did the two of you breakup? has there been any contact since?

It's been about 2 months since we've had contact. We broke up about the same time.
I just felt like he could be the one.

okay. two months is some time for emotions to thaw. what do you think about something light, just a "how are you doing" kind of reach out?

I'm quoting you from another thread:

"These people don't change. The issues will still be there when they return. Remember that and try to move on. He did me dirty the first time, but the second time around I had pain that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. He posted stuff on social media with her one night, and I cried so hard I almost threw up.

Dont do it to yourself. Don't let her come back."

PG,

I think you know the answer to this question.

However, what do you think he'd say? What do you dream of him saying?
